This website is great because people can check out drink recipes. But sometimes Drinks get submitted more than once and it's hard to decide which one to use. I suggest:

*Recipe Rating
This should give the users an idea on how "accepted" that recipe is, and not how "tasty" it is.

*Drink History
When someone asks me how to make a Mai Tai, I tell them it changes with Venue. It was invented by Trader Vics in 1944 and it originally contained their Creme de Almond. I want to Know WHY the drink is made a certain way and why it has the name. The "margarita" evolved from the "sidecar." These are facts. As a bartender, I should know that kind of stuff not only because it is my profession but also because it makes Great conversation. The history should be rated for accuracy and maybe users can

*Comment
so that way we get the feeling that the community agrees with the history or recipe.

These additions would make this website a "standard."

The problem with these ideas of yours is that someone, i.e. one person, has to take control of the project. And it therefore becauses one persons opinion.

1. Creme de Almond was not in the original TV Mai Tai; Orgeat Syrup was used.

2. The Margarita has not been categorically proven to have been developed from the Side-car. All we know is that it is similar in ingredients.

The list could go on, as people's ideas of what is history is usually wrong. And this is not having a go at you.

But take the Pina Colada, most people think it was created in Puerto Rico in 1954, even though there are references to it in the 1930-1950s.

There is more on the Tom Collins, Bloody Mary, Bacardi Cocktail, and Singapore Sling.
