So my favorite bartending book is an Old Mr. Boston's Bartender's guide from 1963. It has all these great old school recipes including a Blazer where you light whiskey on fire and pour it from vessel to vessel to make it look like liquid fire and a Mulled Claret where you heat the liquid with a hot poker. Both these drinks require a metal mug, should it be silver or stainless steel? Is there an alternative metal that would be better to use? In the 70's my family used to have some colonial looking metal mugs with wood handles that would do the trick. Anyone know where to get them? Also, wouldn't the wine flavor be affected by the metal?

Getting a poker is easy, my father in law is having a friend who's a colonial black smith make one for me specifically for drinks. Evil
