| 1 oz. is aprox. to 30 ml. A 9oz. glass is usually used for mixed drinks. It really depends on where you live, on "the common" drink. I would remember Long Island Tea, Margarettas, Amaretto Sour,& Whiskey Sour. Make you a recipe file. You'll do fine. I've been in "the buisness" over 18 yrs. and I sometimes go blank. Just make sure that you are famillar with the bar. And make sure everything is in the same place. Good Luck! [/i] |

I've created my little bar and have success with vodka, gin, rum, triple sec, whiskey, and tequila.
You can't do too much without sweet & sour mix, 7-Up, and or some type of soda.
ICE ICE ICE
I sometimes use my shot glass for measuring. I always use my shaker. Put your glasses in the freezer about 10 mins before using. Adds a "cool" touch.
Hope this helps.

What she said. Also you make some sugar syrup (1:1 ratio of sugar and water heated up until syrupy). You'll also need lemons and maybe some limes, and a jar of marachino cherries. Don't forget the toothpicks!! |

Hello,
My advice… know the difference between a “call” or “top self” brand of spirit and a “bar” or “well” brand spirit. Now if it’s just you, top self spirits… the ones known to be better quality and taste that are normally “called out for” and the best / fresh mixers make top notch drinks for your enjoyment.
If your like me though and entertain a large group of friends every weekend on-top of frequent parties, its good to know that the cheap "bar brands", brands that are cheap and not very high quality, make the same drinks and unless you have some real discerning friends they wont know the difference, and this will save you countless amounts of money.
For example, one “bar brand” 750ml bottle of each of the following ingredients vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and triple sec shouldn’t cost you over thirty dollars and can make you a number of drinks. Now the same five 750ml bottles only top self will cost close to if not well over one hundred dollars.
Other then that, always have a back up bottle of vodka, in my experience it is poured twice as much then any other spirit.
