Ok...I have a friend that is talking about one of the best drinks that she had. She said that it was called a kypernia (I am not sure if that is the correct spelling or not). It is said like this...
KI-PER-KNEE-AH
It would have been in a bar most likely in the St. Louis Missouri area. All that I know is that there are fresh squeezed limes in it. Anyone have any ideas? |

As no-one seems to use this forum anymore this is a very late reply if your still interested.
She's probably talking about a Caipirinha, which is very similar to a mojito.
It's sugar, limes & vodko (Mojito) or cachaça. Mojito's use mint as well.
Both very nice. |

Hi Alvin,
That sounds really good. You should submit it
The forums have been pretty quiet lately. We'll probably try to make them more prominent on the site at some point in the future. |

The caipirinha is
4 lime wedges
1 tsp demerarah sugar
muddle
add crushed ice to the top
pour 2 shots cachaca
plunge stir with bar spoon
the Caipirissima is
same, but substitute for rum
the Caipiroska is
same, but substitute for vodka
it is a very versitile cocktail.
you can flavour with fresh mandrin and
substitute your neuteral vodka with absolute mandrin.
the sky's the limit with this one

| Caipirinhas are very popular in NY. I like to make mine with Leblon Cachaca http://www.liveloveleblon.com/. Just muddle one lime with 2 oz Leblon and 2 tbsp of sugar. Garnish with lime. Delicious! |
