Post subject: Creamsicle Curdling... |

I've seen a few recipes for creamsicles, and tried some of my own.
The one i use most is orange stoli vodka, vanilla stoli vodka, amaretto, a bit of OJ, and some milk (we usually use 1%, don't really have cream in the house).
Anyway, whatever i do, it normally curdles the milk. Tastes fine but just nasty looking.
I've read things somewhere that cold does fix that, but didn't work for me tonight - i actually had frozen all of it but the milk, then stirred in somme milk. And i don't use a lot of OJ or milk, btw.
I've seen other sites recommend using powdered milk, but the mix master in me screams out against that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

guacamole,
its more likely the high citric acid content of the drink that is causing your milk to curdle. There is a gag recipie that is intended as a prank on newbie drinkers. Its called the cement mixer and its two shots chased one after another, the first being bailey's and another shot of all roses lime juice. the person drinking is supposed to hold the first shot then shoot the next instantly curdling the bailey's in their mouth! Im pretty sure thats why this is happeing. |
