From my Absinth Recipe card, and something that I highly recommend is this.

-Bull Rush-
Glass: High Ball

One shot of Absinth
One shot of Vodka
One can of Red Bull
Lime Wedge

Fill the glass half full with ice. Pour the shot of Absinth and Vodka in, respectively. Top the mixture with the Red Bull. Garnish with lime wedge.

Hey, that looks pretty good. Absinthe can be nasty, but I think it depends on the brand. I've had/seen absinthe ranging from 50% to 70%. What proof do you normally use DasBay?

I've only really had Sebor Absinth. It's 55% alcohol. Not too strong, but definitley an experience, nonetheless!

I've had Hill's Absinthe and I didn't feel drunk at the time it was something quite different. (althought I am told I sounded completely incomprehensible to my sober friend) We took a spoonful of sugar, dipped it in absinthe, and lit it on fire. The sugar carmelizes and drips into the Absinthe setting it aflame. Add some water and it clouds up. I believe thats' the tradition like salt and lime with tequila. I cant find Absinthe or Everglo or any of the Taboo liquors in the US except for online. Any suggestions for the best site?. I also heard of a new liquor in South America made from Cocoa leaves. Anyone else?

Although I haven't had the South American drink you speak of, Absinth is by far an experience I would love to enjoy again. Because Absinth is illegal in the US, only overseas websites are available. However, not all websites are created equally.
The three that I deal with are:
SeborAbsinth.com (Fast shipping/Yet SUPER EXPENSIVE)
http://www.drinkabsinthe.com/absinthe_kits.html
(The Essence is great! Pour the two little bottles into a big bottle with atleast 50% alc. by volume and you've got instant absinth! The kits themselves are basically useless, unless you have your own distillery. Those same kits I'm talking about are only good for smoking. Supplies are always limited on those 2 little bottles I mentioned earlier...)
The third place is all the way in Germany: 1a-absinth.com
They have every kind of absinth, be it, clear, red, green, Czech, Spanish, and every country within walking distance in Europe on that site. You must be prepared to pay a little extra for their paypal services, though. I'm not to keen on the bank wire transfer either. Anyhow, any other questions, I'll be more than happy to answer!

Hey there - I was just reading your message about where to get Everglo in this forum. It's actually available in New York City right now, but I don't know if you live here. At my local liquor store called PJ's Liquor Store on 4898 Broadway in New York - I see a bottle of it all the time. I even pick it up sometimes. It's not bad stuff at all - really messes u up!

Pour 2 oz. cold Absinthe into a rocks glass.Place a sugar cube onto a slotted spoon and hold over glass.Slowly pour 2-5 oz. of ice-cold bottled water over sugar cube to dissolve it into the drink...until you get as much sugar and water as you think you need fuckers!Give a final stir and enjoy!
