I've noticed Goldschlager in alot of the recipes in this website.
I know it must be a common alcohol but I'm only a beginning bartender so can someone please enlighten me?
Are there any possible substitutes as well? |

Ahh, Goldschlager... it's good stuff. It's a cinnamon liqueur that has several milligrams of gold leaf mixed in with the liquid. If you swirl the bottle, it sends the gold flakes sparkling through the booze.
The popularity of it comes and goes as do most drinking fads, but it is a fantastic option for holiday drinks, I have to say. Since gold is an inert metal it is safe to consume in tiny amounts, and it's sure a unique experience! |

I had the Goldschlager experience. Now anytime I get NEAR cinnamon stuff I gag. It's just simply.. Disgusting. Even thinking about it makes me wanna dry heave. Then again this is coming from the guy who prefers a shot of tequila over a shot of vodka. |
