I went into a local cocktail bar tonight and after having an Old Fashioned, decided to stay on a simular train and order a rusty nail. It was on the bar menu, so I expected the cockail to be precisely made. I was a bit miffed when the barlead who made my drink poured 1 part of J & B rare to 1 part drambuie. Ive always assumed that a rusty nail should be made with bourbonand be mixed two parts to one. Maybe im being a bit picky but if a traditional cocktail is put as a house cocktail, it should be done traditionally, I was wondering what people thought? am I being too critical as cocktails have a history of steming off from original recipies, or do you expect exact from traditional recipies?
