Drink of the Week for Jul 16th, 2004: Absolut Lemonade

What we had to say

So here's the trouble with zombies. You go through all the hassle of making one, imbuing it's lifeless shell with spirits from the darkest netherworlds, defying creation by re-animating material that had resigned itself to the void of eternity, and the darn things don't even say thanks! Instead, they wander around smashing stuff, tramping on your lawn, and eating brains. You'd think they might be happy to be out in the sun, and that they'd show their appreciation by, say, washing your car or mowing your lawn, but it seems that they'd rather just kill anything in their path to feast on hippocampus, with a side of R-complex. This really puts a kibosh on our "Hire-a-zombie" summer business, which we thought might be more economical than robots or students. At the very least, we figured we could sell out to Monsanto. Maybe we just got the spirits from the wrong netherworld. In any event, if you're missing a cat, it wasn't us. Also, if anyone would like to donate some chainsaws or shotguns, we'll be outside mowing the lawn (it's not going to mow itself, and apparently the lazy zombies aren't going to do it).

Despite battling hordes of responsibility-shirking undead, we managed to get a new feature up and running last week. If you've registered for an account, you can now change your recipe display preferences to use imperial or metric units! Just log in to your Drinknation account page (if you don't have one, you can register for free at http://www.drinknation.com/register.php ), and you can set your prefs there. No more re-animating math zombies to help you convert ounces to centilitres! Come to think of it, the math zombies didn't work out any better than the yard work zombies. Maybe we'll just stick to drinks.
