Drink of the Week for Jan 28th, 2005: Banana Hammock

What we had to say

As purveyors of fine drink recipes, we must thank you, our loyal readers, for all your great drink submissions. Not all of you though. If we could find some of you, we would probably report you to the FDA for crimes against humanity (they have a branch division that specializes in British cuisine). If your drink recipe is "pour salsa into vodka", we don't want to have anything to do with it. Keep it to yourself. If you're drinking that, then you're acutally pre-qualified to take part in our scientific study entitled "Long Term Effects of Living Under Power Lines". If you're thinking of submitting a recipe to us, and you're wondering if we'll accept it and post it on the site, take the following quiz:

Does my recipe consist of:

  • 3 oz. soy sauce

  • 3 oz. hot sauce

  • dash of gin

If you answered yes, then odds are good that you won't see it in print. In a startling coincidence, odds are also good that a large portion of your brain is about to be removed by a rampaging horde of your own white blood cells, which have identified it as a "definitive threat to self-survival". If you answered no to that question, then odds are good your recipe is just the kind of great stuff that we've come to expect from our readers. So buy yourself a round and keep up the good work. This week at Drinknation, we're raising our glasses to you.
