I used to have a Banana Cow drink at The Lauau in Beverly Hills in the 1950's -it was wonderful - ! Seem to recall it being made with banana liqueur, rum, cream, banana, milk, don't remember the nutmeg - it was served in a long glass and was wonderful. If I had more than one I remember weaving in and through the tables - very intoxicating. I worked for a law firm nearby and we'd go there for lunch at least once a month.

When I lived in the West Indies, this was my favorite drink. I suggest that one be sure to use (along with the rum) freshly ground nutmeg, cream of coconut (adding a bit of real coconut is not a bad idea), at least 02 oz. of real cream, skip the Grenadine, and when one mixes, do so in a blender, along with a cup of crushed ice and make sure to add the banana to the mix (not as a garnish). Excellent drink but be careful. Tends to have a kick (depending on the strength of the rum used).
