Tequila, gold

Gold tequila is unaged tequila that has had coloring added to it, generally from caramel. Gold tequila is often confused with Reposado tequila, because both these tequilas can be colored. However, Reposado refers to the age of the tequila, not the coloring.

Tequila comes from the distillation of the blue agave cactus that grows in the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.

The gold variety of Cabo Wabo, Tequila Reposado, is aged in oak barrels for 3 to 12 months. It comes in a blue bottle.
