Drink of the Week for Dec 12th, 2003: Velvet Hammer

What we had to say

So holiday season is in full swing again. We know this because the toll from being trampled to death for cheap electronics has hit the top part of the thermometer display at the campaign headquarters. Now, we don't know about you, but this time of year can be very stressful, even without the trampling factor. Shopping, guests, giving, trees, dinners, relatives, lights, it's all very time-consuming and demanding. Especially if your relatives are smelly hunter-gatherers from the early neolithic that somehow managed to survive the Industrial Revolution to become your in-laws. Not that our in-laws are anything at all like that. Maybe more like middle neolithic.

We find that the best way to deal with all the stress is to keep our mouths shut. When the family gets long-winded about stupid things you disagree with, it's a lot easier to brush them off and let them slide by harmlessly instead of trying to educate them. Also, it makes it easier to aim the tranquilizer gun when you can concentrate on your aim. Ha ha! Just kidding. We've never used a tranquilizer gun on our in-laws. Tasers are much more effective.

Ha ha! Just kidding again. When all else fails, we simply offer them a drink and change the subject. This is a much better solution, because while they're distracted by our delicious mixing skills, it's easier to... um... taser them. In short, don't listen to us about avoiding family arguments, and enjoy this week's drink. We're going to go charge some batteries.
