  • 2 oz. Whiskey, blended
  • 1/2 oz. (Claret or Bordeaux) Wine, red
  • 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1 whole Cherries/Maraschinos
  • 1 slice Lemon
  • 3/4 oz. Sugar Syrup

How to Make It

  1. Combine whiskey, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake until chilled, approximately 30 seconds.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass.
  4. Using the back of a bar spoon, carefully float the red wine on top.
  5. Garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.

Preparation notes

  • Use a fruity red wine for a New York Sour if possible. You'll get better results than using a wine that's too dry.
