Drink of the Week for May 22nd, 2004: Sour Apple Cosmopolitan

What we had to say

May is slowly winding down, but that just means that wedding season is heating up. Already this year, we here at Drinknation have had the honor of being best men, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and unruly drunken uncles. Sometimes all at once. It's a busy schedule, and if there's one key thing that we've learned about weddings that we'll never forget, it's that you should elope.

Ha ha! Just kidding of course. Sort of. It does seem like as soon as you mention "wedding" to a cake merchant, suddenly the cost per ounce of flour and sugar skyrockets into the vicinity of moon-mined ultradoofium. And they haven't even discovered that element yet. We advise you to tell the baker that your dog and cat are getting married instead, so he won't jack up the price. You might get cutesy little animals on top of your cake, and the baker might think you're a psycho, but at least you can afford to eat better than your dog and cat after it's all over. If you are getting married this summer, we'd like to extend our condolen... er... congratulations. But we'll see you there anyway. We'll be hanging out with your unruly drunken uncle.
