Drink of the Week for May 21st, 2005: Purple Sour Banana

What we had to say

Poking around the rental housing market is like having a flaming rhinocerous chase you through a bramble patch. It hurts. And sometimes it burns. With apartment rental prices at more than what a mortgage would cost, who wants to deal with Igor von Batmunschen as a landlord, Mrs. Crabtree as your downstairs neighbor, and having to watch over your laundry for 2 hours a week so that someone doesn't pilfer your fuzzies? Or you could get into one of those houses that has been rented to college students for the last 25 years by an absentee landlord for approximately the same monthly payment as a lamborghini. For that price you could buy two Ford Expeditions, park them back to back, put in a stove and live with air conditioning and surround sound. Or for that matter, you could buy a parking lot full of VW vans and start a commune.

So anyway, here's a drink. We hope you're not out hunting for rental places right now, but if you are, and you see Igor, tell him we want our pyjamas back.
