Allspice is a plant that grows in subtropical or tropical environments, whose wood, leaves and fruit are used to flavor traditional cuisines, most notably Jamaican jerk flavorings and Middle Eastern dishes.

Ground allspice is the powdered fruit of the allspice tree (it's not a mixture of spices as some people believe) and can be commonly found in grocery stores.
