Madeira

Glossary:

Madeira is a type of wine made in the Madeira islands, in Portugal. It is fortified with grape brandy and subjected to high temperatures in special buildings to simulate conditions of a long ocean voyage.

Due to the fortification process, Madeira is extremely long lasting and there are known bottles over 100 years old. Additionally, once opened, Madeira can often be ok to drink for up to a year afterwards.
