How to Make It

  1. Add ice to an old fashioned glass.
  2. Add ingredients and stir well.

Preparation notes

  • If you find that equal parts whiskey and amaretto is too sweet, use less amaretto to find a preferable balance. Some recipes go as low as 8 parts whiskey to 1 part amaretto (e.g. 2 oz whiskey and 1/4 oz amaretto).
  • Blended scotch is the usual ingredient in a Godfather, but most any whiskey will do, including bourbons.

I mix this drink as a double, 2 shots of Johnny Walker Black Label and 1 shot of Amaretto Di Amore. Just be careful, a drink containing 3 shots can sneak up on you.

I do not drink much. I used Malt Scotch Whiskey with my amaretto. It was too harsh for me. I tried to cut it with a few different ingredients but they messed it up. I think I will try a different Scotch (not Malt).
