Sour Mix

Glossary:

Sour mix is a common ingredient in many drinks, and consists of a mixture of sugar and lemon and/or lime juice.

Sour mix is also known as Sweet and Sour Mix and Bar Mix. However, it is NOT the same thing as Sugar Syrup (sometimes called Simple Syrup), and the two should not be confused.

Sour mix can be bought almost anywhere cocktail mixers are sold, but it is also extremely easy to make, and often better fresh. A simple recipe is to dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water, and mix in 1 cup of lime juice and 1 cup of lemon juice. Make sure your lime and lemon juices are fresh!
