Drink of the Week for Jul 3rd, 2004: Poker Face

What we had to say

In keeping with what has unofficially become "Drinknation vs. Politics" month, this week saw some Drinknation staff wield their mighty votes to bludgeon the ruling parties of Canada into submission. In keeping with the history of politics since the dawn of all time, some rich old white guy got elected. We're pretty sure he used to be some sort of minister of something no one really cared about, but since we don't live in Toronto or Ottawa (also known as "Downtown Canada"), well... no one cares about him. There's a few problems with electing rich old white guys though, namely:

  1. They're rich

  2. They're old

  3. They're white

Now, don't get us wrong, many of us here at Drinknation aspire to fit into this category some day. We just feel that the political landscape is suffering from too much consistency. That is why, with the upcoming American election in November, we thought we'd showcase a candidate that breaks all the regular stereotypes. We mentioned him last year... his name is Potus, and you can see his platform at http://www.hamsterforpresident.com/ . You can vote for him using the write-in option at the ballot box. Remember, change is good, unless it's Richard Simmons and he's changing in front of you.
